I thought I would post an update on our basement – we are GETTING.SO.CLOSE, I am so excited, I can hardly stand it! When we go back from our trip we decided to tackle the tiling in the bathroom and bar area before building the bar. Bob and I had already picked out the tile we wanted to use, so we went back to Menards to check out our options and decided would stick with what we had decided…we purchased the tile and got to work right away. The girls were able to help us seal the slate for the bar area and it was really fun to include them in the project. Over the next two weeks or so, Bob finished laying the tile, grout and cleaning it. The slate will have to be cleaned a few more times, we knew slate was a little harder to work with, but were still surprised with how dirty and fragile it is to work with. However, we love the finished product and are very excited about it. This past weekend we went shopping for a vanity for the bathroom and ended up finding something we liked for the half bath upstairs. We bought a vessel bowl combo for the half bath and put the pedestal sink we had upstairs down in the basement. Bob got both sinks installed and bathroom downstairs cleaned up. All that is left is installing a toilet this weekend, hanging a mirror and I would like to find a storage cabinet for towels. After that, the focus is building the bar and then laying the carpet….so.dang.close…CAN’T WAIT!
